Document corrupted when opened due to unknown causes (backup copy is OK).
Cause:
The file is corrupted.
Solution:
Open a backup copy of the file.
Open the backup copy of the file. (This file is the last saved version of the file.)
1) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'.
2) Select 'All Files (*.*)' from the 'Files of type' drop-down list box.

3) Select the folder in which the original document is saved.
4) Select the file 'Backup of document name.wbk' (where document name is the name of the saved file).
